Castro Marim map

Castro Marim

It is a town located near the mouth of the Guadiana, in the eastern Algarve. This village has a beautiful location, looking out over the river. The area is characterised by the surrounding salt marshes which are well known for the salt production. With its green hills and white painted houses and in the background stands the imposing castle. Castro Marim is a very fertile land and this is well demonstrated by the cuisine, with tastes of the river or the sea, fresh fruits and vegetables, stews and meats from the grill.
You will find on the banks of the river, great areas for hiking and biking in towns such as Almada de Ouro, these old places where once noble metals were extracted, visit the refreshing lakes and vast landscapes. If I want to venture further north to Odeleite, a farming town of beautiful chestnut and plant fauna.
